Common rail monoblock diesel from STEYR MOTORS

STEYR MOTORS declares that this development boosts performance, as well as efficiency, thus reducing fuel emissions.  The companyhas been a pioneer in the monoblock engine segment, a design concept allowing for compact dimensions, and good power-to-weight ratio, as well as a long service life and operational reliability. STEYR is initially launching four basic models of the SEC 4-cylinder engine series. These offer power outputs from 59 to 129kW. All of these engines are based on a 4-stroke, four-cylinder 2.1 litre unit that features both turbocharging and intercooling. All of the engines weigh 234kg.

Across the range from the SEC84E34 offering 59 kW at 3400 rpm, to the SEC184 offering 129 kW at 4100 rpm, the engines can be combined with various propulsion systems including sterndrive, waterjet, transmission and sail drive. This makes the engine series suitable for pleasure, workboat and rescue operations alike. The EPA Tier III, SOLAS and DNV free fall certification, amongst others, will soon assert the efficiency and versatility of the series. Additionally, the engines are topped off with an appealing and functional design, available in unique colour options.

STEYR is also developing a new service tool, extending its comprehensive range of options and kits. Detailed information on the installed engine is provided, preventing the drive system from serious damage thanks to continuous condition monitoring. This will be able to identify maintenance requirements at an early stage, simplifying and shortening maintenance services, and optimizing engine development.

Unlike most engine manufacturers, STEYR has focused on Monoblock diesel engines in the range from 59 to 215 kW, which is constantly expanded. The engines are especially designed for operation in marine environments, providing supreme durability and performance. The company has also been a pioneer in the development of hybrid diesel engine systems that combine electric and diesel propulsion.
